Palmer vs. Rampart

7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 4

A shootout is in store Saturday when Palmer faces Rampart in an Apex Conference contest at Sertich Ice Center.

This early season clash features two of Colorado's top forwards.

Will Stone leads Palmer with nine goals in six games, which also ties him with Chatfield's Holden Beckett for the state's third-best goal total. Stone's a sharpshooter who five special team's goals, including three shorthanded scores. After a hot start to the season, Stone's deft offensive output was on ice in mid-December but he has been warming lately with three goals in the Terrors' last two games.

His thaw couldn't come a better time. Palmer needs goals to keep pace with a Rampart team scoring at head-spinning pace.

The No. 10 Rams boast a state-best 36 goals in six games, including 29 — 29! — in their last four. The production has been spread across the roster, with four players amassing double-digit points.

Jaysen Komrosfske leads the group with 15 points (six goals, nine assists) while Logan Matheny has nearly matched teammate's pace, posting 14 points (five goals, nine assists). Jordan Jeffrods (six points, seven assists) and Ethan Meyer (six goals, four assists) provide plenty of punch for Rampart.
