Doherty rolled to a victory in its first meeting with Rampart earlier this season, and the Rams may have revenge in mind when these Apex Conference foes meet on Saturday.
The No. 4 Spartans (6-0-0, 4-0-0) have yet to lose this season, a perfect mark that includes a 6-3 victory over Rampart on Dec. 9. Doherty put up goals in bunches and averages more than five goals per game heading into Saturday’s contest.
Tyler Alldredge and Garrett Bogan each tallied two goals last time these teams met, and both may need to record multiple points to hold off a Rams team ready for a victory.
Rampart dropped only one other game this season — a 5-4 overtime loss to Palmer last Saturday.
The Rams (4-3-0, 3-2-0) have had no shortage of offense. Jordan Jeffords and Jaysen Komrofske each have a team-best seven goals while Komrofske also leads the team with 11 assists. Their offensive prowess will likely be necessary if the Rams are to pull off the upset.
