USA Hockey and the United States Hockey League (USHL) have announced that Cedar Rapids RoughRiders defensemen Ben Meehan and Jack Millar, and forward Grant Silianoff have been selected for the 2019 World Junior A Challenge (WJAC) United States Men’s Junior Select Team.

So far this season, Meehan, who hails from Walpole, MA, has a team-leading 15 points on six goals and nine assists, and a plus-12 rating. Silianoff, from Edina, MN, has six goals and eight assists. An assistant captain this year, Millar, from Westminster, CO, has two goals and seven assists. All three are committed to Division 1 hockey programs.

Millar was a member of the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders 13u-18u teams from 2013-2018.  "In my humble opinion, Jack Millar has not yet been acknowledged for the player he is or the player he will become.  It is a well earned compliment to see the higher end hockey world acknowledging a blossoming young hockey player by selecting Jack to play in the International arena," said Coach Doug Smail.

The WJAC tournament, sponsored annually by Hockey Canada, the Canadian Junior Hockey League, and the International Ice Hockey Federation, showcases junior players from teams from around the globe. RoughRiders Meehan, Millar, Silianoff, and the rest of the U.S. team will play against teams from Canada, Russia, and the Czech Republic from December 7-15 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia at the Encana Events Centre.

Congratulations to all of the RoughRiders!
