The Rocky Mountain RoughRiders are pleased to announce that alumni defenseman Ethan Prout has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Williams College.

Prout, 20, just completed his first season playing in the NAHL and second season overall of junior hockey. The 6’0/185 native of Boulder, Colorado, put up some big numbers from the blueline during the 2019-20 season with 28 points (5 goals, 23 assists) in 53 games played.

“Ethan is a fantastic young man whose intelligence, character and competitiveness was loved by his coaches, his teammates and the entire Nordique Nation. He earned respect through his dedication day in and day out and was a consistent force for the Maine Nordiques in our inaugural season.  It was great to see Ethan develop as the year progressed and he was someone we counted on and trusted in all situations. Although he will be missed, we know Ethan will be a tremendous addition to Williams College and we believe he will do great things both on the ice and in the classroom during his time there. He is a first-class person, someone we are very proud to call an alumni, and we wish him all the best,” said Maine head coach Nolan Howe.

Prout played for the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders from 2012-18 and was a member of the 13U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams.

During the 2015-16 season, he posted 9 points in 25 NAPHL games for the RoughRiders 16U team. During the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, he appeared in 40 NAPHL games for the RoughRiders 18U team and recorded 20 points.

He also played in the 2018 NAHL 18U Top Prospects Tournament in Blaine, Minnesota, for the NAPHL West Team.

Congratulations Ethan.  We wish you continued success in your hockey and academic careers.
