CO Hockey Hub Player of the Week Revealed: Sept. 20-26

Player of the Week

Spencer Nelson, Mountain Vista. Nelson stopped 32 of 34 shots in a 3-2 win over Columbine on Sept. 25. After giving up the opening goal of the game in the first period, Nelson stopped 24 shots in the final two periods to help the Golden Eagles mount the comeback victory.

Player of the Week candidates


Sam Zis, Monarch. The junior forward scored the game-winning goal in overtime in a 7-6 victory over Denver East on Sept. 25. Zis tallied two goals and two assists in the Coyotes' back-and-forth matchup.

Erik Brink, Fort Collins. Brink tallied a hat trick and an assist in just the second period of Fort Collins' 6-2 demolition of Monarch on Sept. 26. He also scored in the first period, giving him five total points in the game.

Marek Thompson, Fort Collins. Thompson was the offensive catalyst for the Lambkins, dishing out six assists — three on the power play — during Fort Collins' Sept. 26 win over the Coyotes.

Cooper Robinson, Valor Christian. Robinson posted a 24-save shutout to protect a 1-0 Eagles' win over Regis Jesuit on Sept. 26.
