The 2021 Colorado Amateur Hockey Association State Championship Series is fast approaching.
Youth hockey teams from around the state will have the chance to end their seasons by competing for a tournament banner. The CO Hockey Cup is slated for March 18-21 while the CAHA State Championships are set for March 25-28.
All teams must be registered by 12 p.m. on Feb. 22 to be eligible for the CAHA State Championship Series. Visit here to register now.
CAHA applauds players, coaches, families and all who have done their best to provide safe opportunities to enjoy the sport we love amid trying circumstances this season.
“Last fall, there were many questions about how the hockey season would play out,” CAHA President Randy Kanai said. “Our goal — as it is with every season — is to provide the best possible experience for the players and this season, and within all health and COVID policies.”
The CAHA State Championships feature, at minimum, the top four teams from each age division battling for a banner in a round-robin tournament. The top two teams from the round-robin games advance to play at one of Colorado’s premier rinks with a state championship banner on the line.
CAHA’s exclusive CO HOCKEY RANKINGS provide season-long recognition to teams across the state for their achievements through hard work and dedication on and off the ice to the game of hockey. These rankings will be used as a guide, while the CAHA tournament committee will determine final placement and seeding for both CAHA State Championship Series tournaments.
Only registered teams are eligible to appear in the CO Hockey rankings beginning Feb. 23. Visit here to see if your team is already registered.
CAHA State Championships divisions are: 10U AA, 10U A, 10U B, 10U Open, 12U AA, 12U A, 12U B, 12U Open, 14U A, 14U B, 14U Open, 16U a and 18U Open.
The CO Hockey Cup offers an opportunity for teams that didn’t qualify for the state event to finish their seasons in a fun, competitive atmosphere at local and premier rinks. This tournament is bracket-style, with larger divisions potentially being split into multiple brackets based on competition levels.
Independent and non-Colorado teams are invited to the CO Hockey Cup.
