Player of the Week Winner

Players of the Week candidates

Ryan Burke, Chaparral. The goaltender thwarted an offensive onslaught from Class 5A’s sixth-most potent scoring team in Cherry Creek. He stopped 28 of 29 shots through the first two periods to help the Wolverines build a three-goal lead en route to a 4-2 victory over the Bruins on March 10. Burke finished the game with 35 saves and a .946 save percentage.

Caleb Weien, Air Academy. Weien had a career night, tallying four goals and three assists to lead the Kadets to a 9-8 triumph over Pueblo County on March 8. He also assisted the eventual game-winning goal. Weien's outburst was the first time this year the forward tallied more than a point in a game.

Brennen Morgan, Woodland Park. Morgan notched his second multi-goal game of the season on March 9, tallying five goals in a 9-1 rout of Palmer. He also added an assist for six total points.

Colter Strautman, Glenwood Springs. The senior forward scored four minutes into overtime to not only clinch a 4-3 win over Summit on March 9, but also notch his first hat trick of the season. Strautman also got the primary assist on the Demons’ only goal he didn’t score.
