It seemed fitting that two of Colorado’s top high school scorers —Riley Hunt-Bahn of Cherry Creek and Nolan Devine of Fort Collins — would be the catalysts for the Team Colorado boys’ offense on Thursday.
The output from those two forwards, however, proved to be insufficient. After falling behind Team Colorado 1-0, the Michigan Seniors came back with three unanswered goals and eventually cruised to a 7-2 victory at Plymouth Ice Center in Plymouth, Minnesota.
Thursday’s game marked the first appearance for a team from Colorado in the CCM High School National Invitational Tournament. The event, held in Minnesota each year, features top high school players from states such as Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and North Dakota.
