Player of the Week Winner

Mitchell Scott, Ralston Valley. Scott notched his first shutout of the season with a 27-save effort that dealt Mountain Militia-1 a 3-0 loss on April 25. Scott stopped 18 shots in the first two periods to help the Mustangs secure an early lead, as their first goal came four minutes into the second period.

Player of the Week candidates

 

Anthony Guy, Mountain Militia-I. Guy fueled a third-period outburst by assisting on a pair of goals and scoring his second of the game to cap a 7-0 victory over Chaparral on April 24. The forward’s first goal proved vital, as it broke a scoreless tie two minutes into the middle period and set the tone for the rest of the game.

Thomas Gilbert, Collins/Poudre. With the score tied entering the final period, Gilbert turned aside all 13 shots he faced while his teammates scored three goals to secure a 4-1 win against Longmont on April 24. He stopped 34 of 35 shots faced in the game for a .971 save percentage and did not allow a goal in the final 32 minutes of action.

Zack Hall, Monarch/WIC. Hall put forth a 34-save effort to finish with a .971 save percentage in a 1-1 tie with Fossil Ridge on April 24. He made 26 saves in the final two periods, including 17 in the second period.

Noah Younkin, Chaparral. Younkin played a hand in the Wolverines’ first four goals in 7-3 victory over Cherry Creek-I on April 25, scoring twice and dishing assists on a pair of goals through the opening two periods. He secured a hat trick by scoring the game’s final goal.
