COLORADO THUNDERBIRDS
NEED
HOST FAMILIES!

Each year, the Colorado Thunderbirds has players from out-of-state who are here in an attempt to follow their dreams of playing hockey at a higher level.  Colorado Thunderbirds are looking for a billet family for these players.  Billet is such a small, simple word, but one that is big in importance and comes from a long-standing hockey tradition.

This hockey tradition involves a local family opening their home and family to an out-of-state player.  They provide a “home away from home” and the entire experience builds a unique bond that can be very rewarding for both the billet player family and the host family as life-long relationships are often developed that last long after the season.  Billet players arrive in mid-August and stay either through the end of the season or school year.  Billet players are considered “one of the family” so follow the host family house rules.

Colorado Thunderbirds are in need of some host families this upcoming 2021-2022 season.  Whether you have a house full of kids or you live alone, the billet player brings energy and excitement to your home, plus you receive the added satisfaction of helping a young man follow his dreams of playing hockey at a higher level.    Host families receive a monthly stipend to offset expenses incurred by hosting, but the real benefit to host families is the lasting relationship formed between the host family and the billet player and family.

We appreciate your consideration to host a player this season.  If you have any questions or are interested in hosting a player this season, please contact Kim Feno with Colorado Thunderbirds at 720-299-8601or hockeymom80465@gmail.com
