Valor Christian T1 - 4, Regis Jesuit Red T1 - 0

Regis Jesuit Red T1’s reign in the Colorado Prep Hockey League (CPHL) is over.

Valor Christian forward Owen Walsh scored a pair of goals to help the Eagles derail the previously undefeated Raiders in a 4-0 shutout on Oct. 15 at South Suburban Sports Complex.

Walsh scored eight minutes into the opening period off a feed from Brooks Wright.

Eagles leading scorer Ryan Kayser added a shorthanded goal early in the middle period, followed by a Valor Christian (8-1-0-0, 6-0-0-0) goal by Garrett Covney.

Wright connected with Walsh again in the third period to put the victory on ice.

Eagles goaltender Cooper Robinson notched an 11-save shutout, while Regis Jesuit Red (7-1-0-0, 0-0-0-0) goaltender Gage Bussey stopped 31 of 35 shots faced.

Denver East T2 - 5, Lewis-Palmer T2 - 4 (OT)

After a six-game winless skid through the final half of their schedule, Denver East T2 found reward for its resilience.

The Angels overcame a three-goal deficit to force overtime, setting up a game-winner by Micah Hemmingway that lifted Denver East to a 5-4 victory over Lewis-Palmer on Oct. 16 at Big Bear Ice Arena.

Peter Krug and Rodion Dubrovin played a crucial role in Denver East’s four-goal comeback, tallying two goals and an assist each. The Angels (2-6-3-1, 2-4-3-1) duo each found their second goals of the game in the third period, which forced the tie-breaker in overtime.

C. Perreault helped the Rangers (4-4-0-1, 3-4-0-1)  create an early lead with a pair of first-period goals.
