Players of the Week

Andrew Skrlda, F, Chatfield T2. Skrlda has had a consistent start to this season with at least a point in each regular game. His last two games had him notch three goals in total, one in a 6-3 victory over Steamboat Springs T2 on Sept. 16 and two more in a 6-2 win over Heritage T2. Skrlda is the leading goal scorer in all of T2 so far this year with six goals.

William Romero, F, Denver East T1. Romero helped lead Denver East to a resurgent week last week after the team began the season with a loss and a narrow win in overtime. He collected three points (two goals, one assist) in a 5-1 victory over Fort Collins T1 on Sept. 16. Then, after being held to zero points in his next game against Valor Christian T1, Romero exploded for four points (two goals, two assists) in a 8-1 victory over Castleview T1 on Sept. 21.

Jacob Patterson, F, Resurrection Christian T1. Talk about standout games, as Patterson sandwiched a masterful performance between two games where he wasn't on the scoresheet. On Sept. 16, Resurrection Christian T1 routed Eagles Hockey/P Creek T1 9-2 and Patterson showed his prowess with four points, two goals and two assists. Patterson had the last goal in the game, tying him for the team lead in goals with five this season.

Alex Lemons, D, Monarch T1/Monarch T2. Lemons has split time between both Monarch's T1 and T2 squad, giving him quite the opportunity to showcase his skills. He has shown he deserves a chance to prove his mettle in T1 thanks to his T2 dominance. The defender had eight points in two T2 games this past weekend. He had three points in a 9-2 victory over Resurrection Christian T2 on Sept. 16 and struck the next day with a hat trick plus two assists in a 13-0 win over Mullen T2.

Samuel Cozart, G, Denver East T1. The goaltender has really shown his stuff lately, with two complete game victories in the last week. On Sept. 16 he backstopped his team to a 5-1 victory over Fort Collins T1 where he faced 14 shots. The next day, he secured the win with 23 saves to beat Valor Christian T1 3-2 on Sept. 17.

Stats as of Sept. 22.
