The Idaho Vipers 19U AA team won first place at the Boulder Breakout girls tournament Feb. 17-20.
The Idaho Vipers 19U AA used a strong third period to pull away from BHC Lady Roughriders 19U 3-1 on Feb. 20.
After a scoreless first period, Catherine Pontzer netted the game's first goal midway through the second on a dish from Keeley Combo to give the Vipers a 1-0 lead.
Gemma Mueller helped the Roughriders counter with a power-play goal of her own five minutes later to force a 1-1 tie heading into the final frame.
Anna Dale's goal proved to be the game winner, scoring unassisted midway through the third. Combo added an insurance goal in the closing seconds.
Idaho outshot the Roughriders 26-16, while goalie Noelle Woodard totaled 16 saves for the Vipers.
Mountain Select 14U AA was the top team, claiming first place at the Boulder Breakout girls tournament Feb. 17-20.
It was a battle of goal stoppers in the 14U Division final.
After 14 shots from Mountain Select 14U AA, the team's 15th stick flip proved to be the game decider.
Seven Tudor, on a dish from Ella Fischetti, scored the game winner for Mountain Select to secure a narrow 1-0 win over BHC Lady Roughriders 14U AA.
Ashley Roggie registered a shutout for Mountain Select when it mattered the most. Roggie posted 15 saves, while Zoey Bonney stopped 11 shots for the Roughriders.
Krivo 12U A won first place at the Boulder Breakout girls tournament Feb. 17-20.
Ashley Long's heroics helped Krivo 12U A clinch first place in the 12U Division.
Long scored the last two goals of the game, including the game winner in overtime, part of a 4-3 win over BHC Lady Roughriders 12U AA.
Aleeah Plamann's power-play goal midway through the first period gave the Roughriders a 1-0 lead. Shae Gausselin and Vivian Flanagan assisted on the play.
The second period saw a flurry of goals that started when Camdyn Twiss got Krivo on the board. Sylvie Collins helped the Roughriders regain the lead with a goal a minute later, while Lexi Leeser tied things up 2-2 heading into the third.
Gausselin scored her second goal of the game midway through the third period for the Roughriders. Krivo responded three minutes later when Long scored her first of the game, sending it into overtime.
With time running out in the first overtime, Long finally found the back of the net, scoring the game winner with just 25 seconds left.
Jayden Malish and Aubrie Rowan each recorded an assist for Krivo.
Sylvie Frey posted two assists for the Roughriders.
Goalie Mia Melackrinos tallied 45 saves for Krivo, who were outshot 48-21.
